Anfield Resident Case Study
Niki Leech, 37, has lived in Anfield for nine years with her three children aged eight, seven and five who all attend the local primary school.
Niki manages two jobs in caring and maintenance and recently moved into her brand-new property on Rockfield Road, which has been rebuilt by Your Housing Group to reflect the period style of the street.
“The kids were running around in excitement when we moved in, we felt really happy with our new home.
“Your Housing Group gave us the chance to pick out the units and tiles for both the kitchen and bathroom before we moved in, so it felt like there was already a personal touch when we arrived. We’re a family of four so I try and save money where I can, school trips and uniforms are expensive, but both my rent and bills are more affordable since we moved, and Your Housing Group worked with me to suggest the best options for us.
“Anfield has transformed in the years I’ve lived here, there is a good atmosphere next to the stadium but there is also more to the area now, we have a community. My house is a new-build with a very traditional “look” about it, I love the bay windows and high ceilings. We have a large garden and I’m looking forward to the kids playing outside in the summer time.”
Your Housing Group has been investing in the regeneration of Anfield alongside Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Football Club for the past five years. Work has included building new homes and improving Stanley Park.
Niki said: “Living so close to the city centre is a huge perk, even though the children are young, I often think about their future and as the area continues to grow more opportunities will be available to them.”
