East Riding divestment
In 2018, we wrote to our residents in the East Riding area of Yorkshire about our proposal to transfer the ownership of their homes to a new landlord. However, the proposal went no further at that time.
In 2018, we wrote to our residents in the East Yorkshire area about our proposal to transfer the ownership of their homes to a new landlord. However, the proposal went no further at that time.
Since then, we have been contacted by a Registered Provider (RP) of social housing, in the East Riding area, who are exploring the possibility of taking on ownership of these homes and providing landlord services to those residents.
We believe all customers should benefit from efficient and responsive services. We are therefore exploring options to identify a new landlord who, like us, believes in offering this kind of service and value for money, whilst maintaining high standards. Should the transfer go ahead, any funds raised will be reinvested into more affordable housing.
We would like to make it clear that none of our residents’ homes are at risk.
We have written to all affected residents to inform them of this proposal and have invited them to contact us with their views, ahead of a formal six-week consultation.
