Brian Cronin BA FCCA
Group Chief Executive and Executive Board Member

Brian was appointed as Group Chief Executive of the Your Housing Group on 1st April 2012 which was a newly formed organisation resulting from the merger of Harvest Housing Group and Arena Housing Group of which Brian was Group Chief Executive. Your Housing Group manages more than 28,000 units based in and across the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands and is one of the largest housing providers’ nationally.

As well as providing general needs accommodation the Your Housing Group provides care and support to over 6,000 units, mainly to older people particularly through its Extra care Villages.

Brian was the founding Chair of Fusion21, which brought together seven leading Associations to jointly procure maintenance. Over its 10 year life the multi award winning Fusion21 has created employment opportunities for hundreds of unemployed people as well as introducing intelligent procurement concepts.  He was also founding Chair of Procurement for Housing (PfH), the national procurement agency for housing organisations that is jointly sponsored by the CIH and NHF through Housemark. In addition Brian sits on the Board of Positive Futures North Liverpool Ltd and Liverpool Community College.

Jacque Allen
Deputy Chief Executive

Jacque has worked within the social housing sector for over 29 years and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Strategic Management.

Jacque’s overarching role is focused on the provision of high-quality services that customers’ value and Jacque leads all operational areas across YHG’s portfolio which includes; customer connect, landlord services, supported housing, sheltered and retirement living, asset investment, growth and repairs & maintenance.

Jacque entered Executive Leadership roles over 15 years ago, which includes Director of Dales Housing, Group Director of Operations at Acclaim Housing and Director of Housing & Customers at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group.

In addition to this, Jacque has held board positions for a range of charitable trusts, including Chair of a domestic abuse organisation, and member of a Department of Education School Strategic Board, focused on the creation of an Academy Trust. 

Dawn Williams
Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer

Dawn is a Chartered Accountant who works as part of Executive teams to create innovative business plans, design and deliver transformational change projects and improve operational and financial performance.

Having trained with Ernst & Young in Liverpool, Dawn then joined United Utilities PLC, where she spent 22 years in various finance, business strategy and transformation roles across water, electricity, gas and telecoms divisions.  Dawn joined YHG in May 2018 and has been leading the business planning process to develop, align and deliver a robust annual business plan that supports the Board approved mission and strategic objectives.

Michael Finister-Smith
Interim Chief Financial Officer

Michael Finister-SmithMike is a retired chartered public finance accountant with over 25 years’ experience in the social housing sector.

This has included over 15 years in roles on Executive leadership teams. He was Group Director of Corporate Services at Waterloo Housing Group and Group Director of Resources at Acclaim Housing Group and Willow Park Housing Trust.

Since his retirement, Mike has continued his involvement in the sector as a board member in a number of social housing providers. He is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at both Ongo Housing Group in Lincolnshire and Broadland Housing Group based in Norfolk. He has recently been involved in working groups in the development of the risk assurance frameworks, new governance structures and for raising new finance.

Outside of work, although he is a parent to four adult children and seven grandchildren, none of them still live in the family home, so he now lives in a far more relaxed environment with his wife and two Labradoodles, in between attempts to play tennis, reading and watching his football team lose consistently.
