Our wonderful Egerton Court resident was so proud to get an award from BBC North West Tonight this Christmas!

Noel Cowly, who's a youthful 91 years old, has lived at the sheltered scheme for over 55s for 23 years now and received the award for his work at a local primary school.

Noel volunteers his time to listen to children read, encouraging them and nurturing their young minds to inspire a passion for reading and learning. At 91 - how amazing!

Karen Stead, coordinator for Egerton Court said "Congratulations Noel, what an incredible achievement. At 91 years old he still makes the journey each week to inspire the younger generation. You inspire us as much as you do the children."
