In order to continue the work and steady improvements we are making in terms of building safety and customer service, we have appointed two new roles to our executive level leadership team.

Stepping into the newly created role of Chief Property Officer, we are thrilled to have appointed Ian Thomson.

Ian joins us from Magenta and will continue his already impressive and expansive career in housing and asset strategy and management. This role will oversee the ongoing home improvement works for our residents, but also the evolution of our repairs and maintenance team, fix360. Key to this role, however, is the continuous and ever-changing landscape within the building and resident safety arena, and we are confident that Ian can reliably and diligently guide us in line with national requirements and expectations.

Safety is and will remain our top priority and Ian’s vast knowledge in this area is paramount to keeping us on a progressive improvement trajectory to enhance our viability as a business, whilst maintaining the ongoing care for our residents and their homes.

Ian said, I’m delighted and excited to be joining #TeamYHG from 1 July 2024 and I am absolutely committed, to delivering excellence in property services and landlord compliance for our customers.”

Also, we are pleased to announce that our current Director of Housing & Customer Service, Paula Marshall, has been promoted to Executive Director of Housing & Customer (EDHC).

Paula joined us just before the pandemic and has since made a huge impact in terms of her team leadership to support our residents who have in turn acknowledged these changes with year-on-year improvements in annual customer survey. Her unwavering support has also seen improvements in how we manage antisocial behaviour, the ongoing success with our four foyers and also within the customer service and engagement arena. Since Paula joined, we have achieved the Tpas Landlord Accreditation, plus adapted and improved our customer engagement groups to work for both our residents, our partners and us, and this arena continues to thrive and grow.

Paula says, “I am really excited and proud to be joining the Executive Team to continue my housing career at YHG.  We have seen many improvements in the last few years, particularly around culture and improved services to customers, and I look forward to further enhancing this as part of the new leadership team”.

These great new additions to our leadership at #TeamYHG are the next step in our journey following Jacque’s appointment as CEO, Kal Kay joining us as Chief Financial Officer, and Shabana Hameed gaining a promotion to Director of Risk, Assurance & Improvement.
