Older electric meters, called Radio Teleswitch (RTS) meters, are being switched off across the UK. These meters are often used in homes with electric storage heating or tariffs like Economy 7.
We have already replaced RTS meters on electricity supplies managed by YHG. If you pay for your own electricity, your energy supplier should have contacted you if your meter needs changing.
If an RTS meter is not replaced, your heating or hot water may not turn on at night. If you think you still have one of these meters, or your heating stops working overnight, please contact your energy supplier as soon as possible.
Please note: If you have your own electricity account, YHG isn’t able to help with personal utility accounts, metering arrangements or meter replacements. Your energy supplier will be able to support you with anything relating to your meter.
