On Thursday 6 November, we hosted our eighth High-Rise Forum but this time, we did things a little differently.

We want these events to be as inclusive and accessible as possible, so we’ve changed our approach. In the past, we held two Forums a year at our head office in Warrington, inviting residents from Liverpool and Manchester who live in our high-rise buildings.

Now, we’re taking the Forums to our residents. Our latest event was held at Faulkner Court and focused on our Manchester community, many of whom speak Cantonese. Traditionally, sessions are delivered in English with live translation through our silent seminar headsets. This time, the entire Forum was delivered in Cantonese by our colleague, while those who needed English listened in through the headsets with live translation.

It was a great opportunity to share important building safety updates and reassure residents about what we’re doing to ensure they have a safe place to call home. We also welcomed a special guest from Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service for a fire safety update.

The smaller group and familiar setting made a big difference and we’re pleased with how it went! Next up, we’ll be in Liverpool for our next High-Rise Forum in March.

We have 13 high-rise blocks, and you can find out more about each one on our web page here.
