We were extremely concerned to hear about the fire yesterday at Rynet Court, Warrington, and our thoughts are first and foremost with the residents and families affected by this distressing event.
We're incredibly grateful that everyone was safely evacuated and that no serious injuries occurred, and we want to thank the excellent emergency response teams involved, as well as our colleagues, who worked into the night.
Fires in the home are deeply distressing for all involved and often fuel speculation, which we’ve witnessed in the past 24 hours. As the owners and managers of the building, we take the safety of all of our residents extremely seriously.
The last fire risk assessment (FRA) for Rynet Court was conducted in February of this year, and we are fully compliant with our responsibilities as a landlord in terms of fire safety.
We are however, deeply troubled to hear about the arrest of a minor in connection with the fire, and we’re working closely with the fire service and relevant authorities as they investigate the cause further.
We’ve spoken to every resident affected.
They remain our priority and we’ll continue to work with them to ensure they feel safe and supported in their temporary accommodation; and have access to food, clothes, essential items and emotional support.
