Rynet Court fire update - 25 July 2025
On Monday 2 June 2025, a fire broke out at Rynet Court in Warrington. Fortunately, the fire was contained within the stairwell and the building performed as expected in the event of a fire. The fire service safely evacuated all residents.
Whilst this was a very distressing event for the residents, most homes were not directly affected by the fire. The communal stairwell however requires essential repairs so we anticipate that residents will be able to return to Rynet Court in early 2026.
We’ve been working closely with all affected residents, providing regular communication and ongoing support through our dedicated Customer Liaison Officers and colleagues from across the business. We are also helping residents identify either permanent new homes or longer-term accommodation, and many are already in the process of moving to alternative homes.
We’re pleased to have made good progress in understanding the work needed to repair the fire damage, and we expect contractors to be on-site within the next few weeks to begin reinstatement works. In the meantime, we’re continuing to support our residents by helping move their belongings either into their new homes or into temporary storage.
We’ve been providing weekly updates directly to our residents to keep them informed. With rehousing progressing well, we will now move to monthly updates as our efforts shift toward reinstatement works and working with our insurance providers and contractors.
We understand how challenging this time has been for our residents, and we remain committed to ensuring everyone has a safe place to call home.
