Stress affects us all differently. While we can’t remove every pressure, small everyday actions can help us feel more in control and supported.

Simple things that can help

Pause and breatheWhen things feel overwhelming, slow breathing can help calm your body:

  • Breathe in through your nose for four seconds
  • Hold for four seconds
  • Breathe out slowly through your mouth for six seconds
  • Repeat for a minute or two.

Take short, regular breaks: Even brief breaks can make a difference:

  • Stand up and stretch
  • Make a drink and step away from your screen
  • Take a short walk if you can
  • Regular breaks support focus, energy and mood.

Write it down: Journaling doesn’t need to be time consuming:

  • Note what’s on your mind
  • Write one positive thing from your day
  • Jot down tomorrow’s priorities
  • This can help reduce mental overload.

Be mindful of digital wellbeing: Too many notifications can add to stress:

  • Mute non-urgent alerts
  • Set clear email boundaries where possible
  • Take screen breaks between meetings.
  • Share what works for you
