This week, 20 of our younger residents moved into their new home at Lock 20, after previously living in Coops foyer.
A foyer is a type of supported housing for people aged 16 – 25, who may need extra help as they take steps towards independent living. Foyers provide safe accommodation alongside access to education, training, wellbeing support and opportunities to build life skills.
We’re proud to officially open this modern, purpose-built foyer in Wigan, a space designed to help young people build their independence, confidence and future opportunities.
Lock 20 includes a range of bright, modern areas where residents can learn, exercise, relax and spend time together.
Each apartment is fully furnished with brand‑new appliances and essential “start‑up” items, from cookware to laundry equipment, helping residents settle in from day one.
Our Supported Housing team has worked tirelessly to make the move as smooth as possible. From carefully transporting residents’ belongings into their new apartments, to keeping the kitchen stocked with drinks and snacks, and giving each resident a full tour of their new surroundings, every detail was looked after.
The move went seamlessly, and we’re incredibly proud of the dedication shown by #TeamYHG.
Their commitment ensures our residents not only have a safe place to call home, but a place where they can feel supported as they take their next steps.
