Leilani is one of our young residents who moved into Bridge Foyer, Chester in 2023 after facing homelessness at just 18.
Despite the challenges she faced, she remained focused and determined, successfully completing three full-time Health and Social Care courses at West Cheshire College.
Her resilience and dedication throughout her studies was always recognised but we're so pleased that she has now been awarded awarded Student of the Year 2025 — a testament to her strength and the support she received along the way.
Leilani said "I was very proud of myself when I was told that I would be awarded Student of the Year from West Cheshire College. It has not been an easy journey for me to complete college, finding myself homeless in September 2023, my college then supported me to apply to Bridge Foyer...
My flat at Bridge Foyer has been my home since then, it's my safe space and my sanctuary...
The staff at Bridge Foyer have supported me through everything - the ups and downs. I know I can talk to them and they'll listen..."
Leilani's success and journey highlights the incredible support that our foyers bring to young people's lives, like Leilani. By proving our young residents with a safe place to call home means they have a safe and supportive environment to create a bright future for themselves.
We’re incredibly proud of Leilani and grateful to all our dedicated colleagues across our four foyers.
