What we’ll achieve through The YHG Plan: Our four ‘what’s’

The four ‘What’s’ in The YHG Plan outline how we’ll make a meaningful difference to you, our residents, and your communities focusing on key priorities to deliver our vision: to ensure more people have a safe place to call home.

  1. Passionate people: our team cares about what they do. They live our values every day and are committed to doing their best for you, whether that’s carrying out a repair, answering a query, or supporting your community.
  2. Safe buildings: your safety is our top priority. We work hard to make sure your home is safe, warm, well maintained and meets the standards you deserve. We’re always investing in our buildings to keep them in good shape and give you peace of mind.
  3. Safe environments: feeling safe isn’t just about your home, it’s about your surroundings too. We focus on creating safe, welcoming environments where you and your neighbours can feel secure and proud to live.
  4. Secure and connected: we want you to feel secure, supported, and connected - not just to your home, but to your community and to us.
How we’ll achieve The YHG Plan: The Five How's

The five ‘How’s’ are about how we will deliver what’s set out in The YHG Plan, which is how we treat people, make choices, and get things done.

  1. Efficient business: we use our time, money, and resources wisely so we can do more with less, without cutting corners. It’s about working smarter, reducing waste, and making sure every decision helps us deliver better value and better services for you.
  2. Viability: we make sure we’re in a good place financially, so we can keep investing in the things that make the biggest difference to you, like improving homes, services, and your community.
  3. Advocating: we stand up for what matters. Through our membership with the National Housing Federation and other partnerships, we speak up on big issues like affordability, safety, and access to services.
  4. Working in partnership: we team up with local partners to make a bigger impact improving services, supporting wellbeing, and helping your community thrive.
  5. Growth: we’re building more affordable homes and taking on existing social housing, making sure it stays available for those who need it most.
