We’ve pulled together some of the key highlights from April 2024 to March 2025 to show what we’ve been working on and what we’ve achieved so far.

We’re really proud of the work #TeamYHG does every day, and our focus is always on you, our residents, making sure you have a safe place to call home and access to the services you need, when you need them. That’s at the heart of The YHG Plan, which guides everything we do through clear priorities and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

We’re always working hard to give you the best service we can, but we know there’s always room to do better, especially when it comes to repairs and the systems behind them. This is something we’ve been working hard to improve, and it remains a key focus as we move forward.

I’m pleased to say there’s been lots to celebrate too!

The housing sector has had another difficult year, but we’re always ready to rise to the challenge. Whether it’s building more homes, improving services, or working in partnership to make a bigger impact, The YHG Plan helps us to stay focused on what matters most - bringing our passion for housing to everything we do to make sure everyone has a safe place to call home.

It’s been another financially challenging year for many across our sector and the country - and we’re no exception.

But through it all, our focus has stayed the same: providing safe homes, delivering services that make a real difference, and offering support that truly matters to our residents. We hope you can see from our achievements how much we care, and that we’re always working to do what’s right for you, our residents.

I offer a personal thanks to every single one of our residents who helped us during the year. Whether it was through membership of one of our groups or committees, came along to an event, filled out a survey, or simply shared your thoughts with us – we’re really grateful. Your input makes a real difference, so please keep it coming!

The more residents who get involved, the better we can shape services that truly work for you. If you haven’t had the chance to take part yet, we’d love to hear from you. Just drop us a line at [email protected]

I’m incredibly proud of what our colleagues have achieved over the past year, and it’s a privilege to be Chair of the Board at Your Housing Group. We’re always learning, always improving, and I’m excited to see what we are planning to accomplish together over the next 12 months and beyond…

What we’ll achieve through The YHG Plan: Our four ‘what’s’

The four ‘What’s’ in The YHG Plan outline how we’ll make a meaningful difference to you, our residents, and your communities focusing on key priorities to deliver our vision: to ensure more people have a safe place to call home.

  1. Passionate people: our team cares about what they do. They live our values every day and are committed to doing their best for you, whether that’s carrying out a repair, answering a query, or supporting your community.
  2. Safe buildings: your safety is our top priority. We work hard to make sure your home is safe, warm, well maintained and meets the standards you deserve. We’re always investing in our buildings to keep them in good shape and give you peace of mind.
  3. Safe environments: feeling safe isn’t just about your home, it’s about your surroundings too. We focus on creating safe, welcoming environments where you and your neighbours can feel secure and proud to live.
  4. Secure and connected: we want you to feel secure, supported, and connected - not just to your home, but to your community and to us.
How we’ll achieve The YHG Plan: The Five How's

The five ‘How’s’ are about how we will deliver what’s set out in The YHG Plan, which is how we treat people, make choices, and get things done.

  1. Efficient business: we use our time, money, and resources wisely so we can do more with less, without cutting corners. It’s about working smarter, reducing waste, and making sure every decision helps us deliver better value and better services for you.
  2. Viability: we make sure we’re in a good place financially, so we can keep investing in the things that make the biggest difference to you, like improving homes, services, and your community.
  3. Advocating: we stand up for what matters. Through our membership with the National Housing Federation and other partnerships, we speak up on big issues like affordability, safety, and access to services.
  4. Working in partnership: we team up with local partners to make a bigger impact improving services, supporting wellbeing, and helping your community thrive.
  5. Growth: we’re building more affordable homes and taking on existing social housing, making sure it stays available for those who need it most.
