So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join the Security team here at YHG.

You will be joining the team at a great time as we enter an exciting period of growth and transformation in security. As such, you will get the opportunity to work with a range of industry leading technologies, get involved with teams across the ICT department and assist in the development and progression of our Security Strategy. 

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for cyber security that has a keen eye to detail and takes pride in what they do. 

What will my working week look like?  

You will be homebased, living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed.  Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office approximately 1-2 times a month.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be working closely with the security lead to maintain a strong security posture across YHG. This will be achieved by managing tickets, contributing to projects, and looking after our range of security platforms.

One of the great things about this role is you will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the business, getting fantastic exposure to new technologies.  

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development, improvement and testing of incident response capabilities within YHG. 

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be successful as a Cyber Security Analyst, here at YHG, you will have…

• A degree in an IT related discipline i.e. Cyber Security or, relevant work experience
• Cyber related certifications such as Security+ or CC
• Experience in vulnerability management
• Experience managing tickets in a SOC or helpdesk environment
• Experience interpreting alerts from various security tools

• Have a keen eye for detail
• Have strong communication skills
• Be adaptable

This role is really suited to someone who likes to solve problems and make a genuine positive impact in their work. Ideally the successful candidate will be personable and understanding as you will be routinely dealing with others in the ICT department. 

This role also offers genuine progression opportunities as YHG will support you with resource to be able to study for and undertake exams relevant to security such as Security+, CISSP or CISM.
