Here are some frequently asked questions that our recruitment team receive.
How do I find out about vacancies?
All of our vacancies are advertised on the Careers section of our website. Here you will be able to access information about the role and the skills and experience required to be successful.
How do I apply?
Within the job advert, click on the “Apply” button and you will be asked to register your personal details (or if already registered, use the same details to login), upload/update your CV and answer a few short application questions for example, confirming your eligibility to work in the UK and provide details of your salary expectation.
You may also be asked to answer some role specific questions to better demonstrate your skills and experience relevant to the role you are applying. It’s important that you think carefully about this before you submit your application, as we will use the information you provide to determine your suitability for the role and will progress those candidates whose skills and experience most closely match our requirement.
What if I can’t find a vacancy to suit me?
To ensure you don’t miss out on your ideal role, register your details and we will email you when we advertise a role that meets your requirements and you can review and apply if interested.
What happens to my submitted application?
Once you’ve submitted your application , you will receive a confirmation email. We will shortlist those candidates who most closely match our requirements and if we think you could be what we are looking for, we will contact you to let you know about the next stage of the process.
We receive high volumes of applications, however, you should receive an update on your application within 2 weeks of the closing date.
Can I get feedback on my application?
Due to the high volumes of applications we receive we are only able to provide feedback to candidates following interview or assessment. We are unable to provide feedback on applications that are unsuccessful at shortlisting stage.
Where will I be based?
Our roles are based all over the north of England. For some roles there will be a requirement to travel between different locations, however any requirements to travel with your role will be discussed with you during the selection process.
Will you support my personal development?
Everyone at Your Housing Group benefits from regular performance and development reviews with their manager. During these discussions your manager will help you to identify areas in which you want to develop, whether this is to comply with legal requirements, to help you to become more effective in your role or to help you to move on in your career. We have a range of methods for delivering training and development including workshops, master classes and via independent providers.
Do you operate a guaranteed interview scheme?
Your Housing Group operates a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for any applicants who declare they have a disability, as well as for residents or anyone who resides in a Your Housing Group property. To be eligible for these schemes applicants must meet the minimum requirements for the role as set out in the role profile.
I work for a recruitment agency and wish to submit a speculative CV
We discourage speculative approaches, especially from none approved suppliers. Therefore, any speculative CV we receive will be treated as a gift and possibly entered into our direct hire process following the successful consent of the candidate.
